I would like to ask the experienced experts: which standard should be used to determine the nominal wall thickness of pipes according to national standards? What about ASME standards? Also, is Sch10 the same as PN10? What pound rating does it correspond to? I’m a newcomer; thank you for your guidance, experienced folks!
In the petrochemical industry, HG_T 20553-2011 is commonly used; it pertains to the selection of dimensions for seamless and welded steel pipes used in chemical piping systems, specifically Series Ia. ASME standards such as ASME B36.10M cover welded and seamless rolled steel pipes, while ASME B16.5 Appendix A 1-3 provides formulas relating wall thickness to weight classes, though these seem to have limited practical significance. The wall thickness of the pipe fittings must meet the requirements for reinforcement due to openings as well as for withstanding internal and external pressures, and this needs to be determined through calculations
GB/T17395 specifies the dimensions, shape, weight, and allowable tolerances for seamless steel pipes; all steel pipes that comply with national standards follow this standard
