During our inspection, we found that many internal floating roof tanks with a capacity of over 10,000 cubic meters (containing gasoline or diesel), as well as some dome-shaped tanks (small tanks with a capacity of a few hundred cubic meters), did not have foam generators or inspection platforms for the tank walls (it is practically impossible to conduct inspections on-site due to lack of access and safety hazards associated with working at heights). Do anyone else face similar issues? What are your thoughts on this problem? If corrective actions are to be taken, how should they be carried out? Also, the filter screen on the tank wall’s ventilation holes is damaged; are there any temporary protective measures (tips) available?

Internal floating roof tanks and some dome-shaped tanks, when used to store gasoline or diesel, do not meet the relevant specification requirements if they lack foam generators (for specific specification requirements, please consult relevant documents). The vent holes on the tank wall are usually located at the top of the tank, in order to make the most use of the tank’s capacity ; At such a high altitude, it is not cost-effective to add an inspection platform. If inspection is required, a hanging basket method can be employed ; As long as the method complies with national safety standards and appropriate safety technical measures are taken, the risks can be kept under control.
