07MnNiMoVDR is a quenched and tempered high-strength steel used for low-temperature pressure vessels. The steel plates are delivered in a quenched and tempered condition, with offline quenching followed by tempering; the tempering temperature must be no lower than 610 degrees. It is smelted using an electric arc furnace + secondary refining, and subjected to vacuum treatment. A number of new processes and technologies were employed, including multi-element micro-alloying, vacuum treatment of the molten steel, modification of inclusions, low-speed high-deformation rolling of the steel plate, as well as controlled rolling and controlled cooling. By ensuring that the steel possesses high purity, high strength, high toughness, and good weldability, and by carrying out appropriate quenching and tempering treatments on the base material prior to welding, it is possible to meet the requirements regarding low sensitivity to welding cracks; Wuyang Steel Plant can produce such steel.
