Why is the pressure gauge installed at the top of the container under test during the pressure test?

Where does the statement \"That pressure gauge must be installed at the top\" come from?

It should be “”, but I think it’s still due to the meteorological conditions in that area. 1. Generally, hydraulic testing is carried out, and it’s affected by the compression from the meteorological conditions at the top; 2. Installing it on the top and at manholes, etc., is inconvenient to operate, and it may somewhat reduce rusting at the joints. 3. Installing it on the top is also safer. Gauge gauges have many threaded parts, and in the event of overpressure or other leaks (due to improper operation), this can cause damage to the container and lead to injuries.
Are there any other considerations regarding gauge readings?
Avoid situations where the liquid level pressure difference causes the gauge pressure to not reflect the test pressure.
During the hydraulic test, installing the pressure gauge at the top of the testing area ensures that the test pressure at any point of the equipment is not lower than the specified value. ASME Section VIII-I does not specify the location of the pressure gauge during pressure testing, but it states that the pressure at any point must not be lower than the specified test pressure. It also specifies that the reading of the pressure gauge during hydraulic testing should be adjusted to account for the static head, which depends on the elevation difference between the pressure chamber being tested and the pressure gauge.
