For glass-lined equipment containing substances with extremely or highly hazardous toxicity and subject to major regulatory requirements, is it necessary to carry out post-weld full stress-relief heat treatment?
Can the glazing process of glass-lined equipment be used as a stress-relief heat treatment? The glazing temperature is generally around 900 degrees, close to the temperature used for normalizing. Normalizing itself also has the effect of relieving stress; therefore, it can be assumed that glass-lined equipment does not require stress-relief heat treatment.
In accordance with the technical specifications for glass-lined equipment specified in GB25025-2010, if the welding joint formed during the assembly of the final jacket and the inner cylinder of the glass-lined equipment does not require post-weld heat treatment, then such heat treatment can be omitted. In other words, as long as the jacket does not require post-weld heat treatment, glass-lined equipment need not consider the issue of post-weld heat treatment.
