Dear sea friends, for the nozzles made of chromium-molybdenum steel used in the cylinders of Q245R, is it necessary to perform heat treatment on the welds? Atmospheric pressure tanks – no inspection required, but they are quite important equipment.
Heat treatment is necessary; whether it’s a vessel at normal pressure or under pressure, the key is to prevent cracks in the welds.
According to GB/T150.4, for weld joints between dissimilar steels, post-weld heat treatment shall be determined based on the more stringent heat treatment requirements.
Check whether the thickness of the chromium-molybdenum steel is within the range suitable for heat treatment; if it is, heat treatment can be omitted by using methods such as maintaining heat during welding
