Do the bursting discs need to be calibrated? Thank you.
No verification is required, but periodic inspection is required. The general replacement cycle is 2-3 years (depending on the material).
This is not necessary. The manufacturer has already tested it before leaving the factory. If you try again here, it will blow it up. The solid capacity regulation only mentions the calibration unit of the safety valve. If it does not mention the bursting disc, look at the first sentence of the solid capacity regulation.: As shown in the picture, bursting discs must be calibrated before use. Generally, when purchasing bursting discs, you must not only rely on the manufacturer's quality guarantee, but also select 3 to 4 bursting discs out of the ten purchased bursting discs for bursting testing. Others can be found in HG/T20570.3 Setting and selection of bursting discs Chapter 6 Safety Annex Article 80 The manufacturing unit of safety valves and bursting discs shall submit an application to the competent ministry (commission, bureau) or provincial, municipal, or autonomous region competent department. The competent department shall submit the application to the labor department at the same level for review and approval based on technical strength, test methods, comprehensive planning, and selection of the best location. * * The General Administration of Labor issues manufacturing licenses uniformly. Article 81 The manufacture of safety valves and bursting discs shall comply with the provisions of this regulation and ministry standards. The safety valve trial production must pass the rated displacement test before mass production is allowed. There should be a certificate of conformity before leaving the factory. The certificate should have the seals of the quality inspector and the inspection department, and the date of inspection should be indicated.: 1. The following items should be stated on the safety valve certificate:: (1) Manufacturing unit, year and month ; (2) Specifications and models ; (3) Nominal pressure, sealing pressure, applicable medium and temperature ; (4) Standards and inspection conclusions based on manufacturing ; (5) Manufacturing license number. 2. The following items should be stated on the bursting disc certificate:: (1) Manufacturing unit, year and month ; (2) Specifications and materials ; (3) Burst pressure ; (4) Applicable medium and temperature ; (5) Manufacturing license number. Article 82 Containers should be equipped with safety valves, bursting discs, pressure gauges, liquid level gauges, thermometers and shut-off valves and other safety accessories in accordance with the requirements of this regulation. During use, maintenance and regular calibration should be strengthened, and safety accessories should always be kept complete, sensitive and reliable. Article 83 Containers that fall into any of the following situations must be equipped with safety valves (bursting discs) and pressure indicating instruments: 1. Containers whose internal pressure may increase due to chemical reactions of materials during the production process ; 2. Containers containing liquefied gases ; 3. Containers without safety valves and pressure gauges at the pressure source ; 4. Vessels whose maximum working pressure is less than the pressure at the pressure source ; 5. When the safety valve cannot work reliably due to reasons such as the production working medium (such as high viscosity, corrosion, toxicity), a bursting disc should be installed instead of the safety valve, or an overlapping structure sharing the bursting disc and the safety valve should be used. Article 88 When a bursting disc is installed on a container, it must be ensured that the pressure in the container is released quickly when the bursting disc bursts. The bursting pressure of the bursting disc shall not exceed the design pressure of the container. Article 89 The thickness of the bursting disc can be calculated with reference to Appendix 3 of this regulation. The thickness of diaphragms in the same batch should be inspected one by one, and the tolerance is ±3%. The design bursting pressure of the bursting disc shall be verified by the manufacturing unit through tests. The verification number is 5% of the same production batch (same specification, same material, same process, same furnace number), and is no less than three pieces. The allowable deviation value of the bursting pressure of bursting discs tested at normal temperature should comply with the provisions of Table 4. When testing at operating temperature (≥200°C), the allowable pressure deviation value can be twice that of Table 4. Table 4 (omitted) After the bursting disc has been verified, if the bursting pressure of one disc does not meet the requirements, the test should be doubled. If it still fails, the bursting disc shall not be used. Article 90 For containers containing corrosive media and flammable or toxic or highly toxic media, the designer shall indicate on the drawing the material of the bursting disc and the bursting pressure determined during design. Article 91 For containers containing flammable or toxic or highly toxic media, a vent duct should be installed on the discharge of the safety valve or bursting disc, and should be led to a safe place or properly disposed of. Article 92 Safety valves should be calibrated regularly, at least once a year. Rupture discs should be replaced regularly, at least once a year. Rupture discs that have not exploded due to overpressure should be replaced immediately. Article 93 When the safety valve is calibrated, the pressure is adjusted, or the bursting pressure of the bursting disc is rechecked, a technician in charge of container safety must be present. The adjusted safety valve should be sealed. The accuracy of the pressure gauge used during adjustment and retest should be no less than level 1, and the relevant results should be recorded in accordance with Appendix 10.
Of course there is no need for verification, this is a one-time use. As long as it is a load * * Standard and design standards can be used, but they need to be replaced once they burst.
Jingjing, you are so reasonable and well-founded... :L
I am very honored to be highly valued and praised by the administrator. I cannot praise you enough. Work hard\ud83d\ude0a
Because the bursting disc is a one-time use, it does not need to be calibrated, but it needs to be inspected regularly.
Rupture discs do not need to be calibrated. Firstly, they cannot be calibrated. Secondly, there is no need to calibrate them. The provisions of the standard, 3# and 8# are already very detailed. I would like to add that the bursting discs in terms of manufacturing process are special instruments, and the manufacturer must have the corresponding hardware and software capabilities to produce them. Although it is a special instrument, for the manufacturer, it is a "standard part" just like bolts and nuts. The raw materials, processing technology, and all links are controllable. If implemented step by step, the probability of "defective products" tends to zero, just like commercial-grade bolts and nuts. This is probably what it looks like :)
No calibration is required, just regular replacement is required. Generally, it should be replaced every 1-2 years. Under highly corrosive working conditions, it is recommended to replace it every six months.
This is the first time someone has asked such a question, haha
