As shown in the figure, at one end of the cylinder, the pressure used for testing is 1.42 Mpa. To determine the thickness of the blind plate used for hydraulic testing in the workshop, SW6 was attempted to be used to check the thickness of the flat cover at that end of the cylinder. The inner diameter at the end of the cylinder is 3890 mm, the inner diameter of the cylinder itself is 3920 mm, and the wall thickness is 40 mm. The inner wall at the end of the cylinder is 15 mm longer than the inner wall of the cylinder itself. The dimensions of the cylinder ends are as shown in the figure, and the diameter of the bolts is 3970 mm. Now, in accordance with GB150.3-2011 7.7.4 regarding the cylinder ends, I am using SW6 “High-Pressure Equipment Design” to determine the thickness of the blind plate used in the pressure testing setup. Since my goal is merely to determine the thickness of this blind plate, not to use it in actual production, I have chosen to use metal flat gaskets for sealing. However, when I enter the data in SW6, the calculations related to “data on the upper head and cylinder ends” always show an error stating “incorrect inner diameter of cylinder end”, as well as “incomplete or incorrect input data”. I would like to ask: 1. What are the reasons for the errors of “incorrect inner diameter of cylinder end” and “incomplete or incorrect input data”? How to solve it? 2. If a flat head cover is not used in the pressure testing fixture, would it be more appropriate to use an elliptical head cover instead? Please ask an expert to help! !
Is it the difference in the structure of the sealing surface at the end of the cylinder compared to that specified in GB150 that is causing the calculation problems?
The inner wall diameter of the cylinder body is 3920 mm, while the inner wall diameter at the ends of the cylinder body is 3890 mm, which is 15 mm less.
I also tried setting the inner wall of the cylinder to be the same as that of its end, changing the inner diameter of the cylinder to 3890 and the wall thickness to 55, but the inner diameter at the end of the cylinder was still shown as incorrect.

I remember that the required value for the center diameter of the bolt is greater than or equal to the outer diameter of the gasket plus 1.5 times the bolt diameter; in this case, that would be 3924 + 1.5*36 = 3978. The center diameter of your bolt is 3970. There are also some other dimensional requirements, but I can’t remember them. Please check GB 150
4070 is the outer diameter at the end, and 3890 is the inner diameter at the end; there is no contradiction
You have violated the requirements of GB/T150, so it won’t be counted for you; indeed, there is a problem with the inner diameter. The inner diameter must not be greater than 1000.
