What is the purpose of evacuating the air after the equipment is manufactured? Is there such a regulation somewhere?
The main purpose is corrosion prevention, as the equipment, after being manufactured and leaving the factory, may encounter harsh weather conditions during transportation by sea; it might also need to be stored for some time before installation. Even after installation, it isn’t necessarily put into use right away. Those who request vacuuming usually also ask for nitrogen filling. The designer chooses whether to evacuate or not as needed.
Generally, nitrogen is used for protection to maintain a slight positive pressure; vacuum pumping should be used as little as possible.
