When installing pipes with cold tightening, is the positioning of the pipes done according to the design specifications? And after cold tightening at the final connection point and removing the locking pin, is the pipe installed at that position, or is it positioned according to the installation location?
Cold tension actually refers to the prestress that is added as a comparison to the condition at room temperature. If there is a specified installation position that can only be achieved at a certain temperature, it must be implemented in accordance with those requirements. If cold tightening is used to achieve a certain level of sealing, it must also be carried out in accordance with the requirements. It’s best to take a video. Previously, cryogenic air separation units were used, in which the connection flanges were tightened with gaskets at around minus 50°C. I’m not sure if your on-site conditions meet this requirement; it’s just for reference.
