For some highly toxic spherical tanks, standard regulations prohibit the creation of openings at the bottom; so what problems might arise if openings are made at the top? For example, do the inlet and outlet fluids enter vertically, and is a high-power pump required? I just encountered a client who, due to the inability to make openings at the bottom, decided to change the spherical tank into a configuration with N separate storage tanks. . . I hope to hear the insights of fellow sailors on this issue.
What’s the problem? It just requires that the inlet and outlet of the medium be at the top; there’s no problem with that, right?
According to standard GB12337, for containers holding extremely hazardous materials, the inlet and outlet openings should be located at the top. If they are placed at the top, in my opinion, the length of the liquid inlet pipe and the risk of erosion by the fluid need to be taken into consideration

For liquefied hydrocarbon spheres, if the outlet is located at the bottom, the static pressure of the liquid column can be used to keep the material in a liquid state. If the outlet is at the top and is designed to extend inward toward the bottom of the sphere, then during discharge from the top, the static pressure of the liquid column decreases, which may cause the liquefied hydrocarbon to partially or completely vaporize. This can lead to cavitation in the pump during pumping, or even make it impossible to extract the material from the upper part of the sphere. This is just an opinion for discussion.
