Is it a mandatory requirement to install a nitrogen seal on the heat transfer oil expansion tank? Or does the system need to have a nitrogen seal when the amount of heat transfer oil exceeds a certain level? Or can one choose not to set it? Seeking advice from experts
Neither the \"Regulations on Safety Inspection of Organic Heat Carrier Boilers\" nor the \"Organic Heat Carrier Boilers\" (GBT 17410-2008) specify anything regarding this, but installing a nitrogen seal in the expansion tank is beneficial for preventing the oxidation and deterioration of the heat transfer oil as well as for protecting the environment.

In September 2018, the provincial authority specifically requested boiler manufacturers to inspect and record the circulation systems of organic heat carrier boiler products and submit the relevant statistics. As a personal suggestion, use Class B products in the design; it would be best if the allowable operating temperature for the heat carrier could be set at 300 degrees. Even at higher temperatures, the instrument graph settings may be checked during inspection.
