A heat transfer enhancement tube is a heat transfer element capable of enhancing fluid heat transfer inside and outside the tube. Heat transfer enhancement can be divided into two types: heat transfer enhancement without phase change and heat transfer enhancement with phase change. In the case of heat transfer enhancement without phase change, methods such as using helical grooved tubes, corrugated tubes, internally finned tubes, inserting objects inside the tube (such as helical strips or spirals), adding reinforcing particles to the fluid, or inducing pulsations in the fluid can be employed to enhance heat transfer. For heat transfer enhancement with phase change, single-sided longitudinal grooved tubes, low-thread finned tubes, serrated finned tubes, and radially radial finned tubes can be used to enhance the condensation of organic substances such as alkanes, olefins, and fluorocarbons. Tubes used to enhance boiling or evaporation include porous surface tubes and double-sided longitudinal grooved tubes.

The end optical tube refers to the part of the heat exchange tube that is connected to the tube sheet and has a thickness approximately equal to twice that of the tube sheet; it is either a tube designed to enhance heat transfer or it is just an ordinary heat exchange tube like those commonly used. It facilitates single-tube pressurization, pipe end welding, and expansion jointing.
