Radiographic testing does not leave any traces on the welds, so it’s not possible to detect anything just by looking at them. There really is no way around this, unless the entire production process is under constant supervision and monitoring, or inspection points are established. Reputable manufacturers are also afraid of problems arising, as the repair costs would be too high. So normal non-destructive testing won’t miss anything, so there’s no need to worry too much about that.
When the goods arrive at the site, it indicates that the manufacturer has approved those products for release, meaning the manufacturer is now responsible for them; it’s definitely impossible to determine whether radiation testing was performed or not. To know what’s going on and whether the manufacturer is producing as required, it is necessary to have manufacturing supervisors on site to oversee the process.

There are films that can be replicated; anyone with a viewing light (even sunlight will do) can reproduce each film exactly as it was, with the images in their proper positions; From the film, it’s possible to see the shape of the weld; if it doesn’t match, then the film is fake. If the manufacturer claims to have used RT testing and then sands the weld, it’s still considered a fake film. Supervisors do this as well. In most cases, the equipment is shipped without the film attached to it. There are other hidden issues as well – you haven’t mentioned them, have you? ;

The standards require that the X-ray inspection films be retained by the manufacturer throughout the design life cycle of the equipment, so as to enable accountability. The cost of flaw detection is very low; for things that are required by standards, no one wants to take responsibility, but legitimate manufacturers are willing to carry out this task.

The factory documentation should include non-destructive testing reports; if such testing is not carried out, the manufacturing unit and the inspection agency are liable under the law. Under normal circumstances, one wouldn’t dare to do such a thing. If the user has doubts, they can do it again. For some devices, it is not ruled out that the manufacturers may engage in fraud to cut costs, and the inspection agencies fail to detect this due to negligence. In most cases, the discrepancy is mainly due to mixed-up information. Upon discovering any issues, they should report them to the local oversight authorities immediately; for matters of doubt, local testing agencies can be consulted for clarification, and absolutely no action will be taken to ignore such problems.
