I would like to ask the experts: For welding pressure pipelines, it is required to use welding electrodes specifically designed for pressure-bearing equipment marked with the letter R. Which standard or document specifies this?
Article 2.12(1) of the «Regulations on Safety Inspection of Fixed Pressure Vessels» stipulates that: \"The welding materials used to manufacture the pressure-bearing components of pressure vessels must ensure that the mechanical properties of the weld metal are higher than or equal to the specified limits for the base material; where necessary, other properties must also meet the corresponding requirements of the base material.\" Therefore, the selection principle for welding materials used in pressure equipment is that the mechanical properties of the weld metal should be higher than or equal to the specified limits for the base material, or meet the technical requirements outlined in the design documents. To meet this requirement, it is first necessary to ensure that the mechanical properties of the weld metal produced from the welding materials are equal to or higher than the limits specified for the base material, or that they satisfy the technical conditions outlined in the design documents.
Thank you for the reply from above, but what I want to know is which standard specifies that pipe welding must use electrodes labeled with something like J427R? It seems to be the factory logo of the Atlantic?
Thank you to the friends above; however, NB/T47015 is designed for pressure vessels, and I’m not sure whether it’s suitable for process pipelines
