I found some information online: but I want to know what these symbols mean (CLP PG) (CLP HC/HCE) (CLP/HLP/E) Thank you. CLP is the classification method in the German industrial standard DIN 51517, which refers to oils for circulating systems. 1. Mineral-based gear oil is designated as CLP according to the German industrial standard DIN51502. Such lubricants can meet the minimum requirements specified in Part 3 of DIN51517. The operating temperature range is from -10°C to 90°C. (Can reach 100°C momentarily) 2. Synthetic gear oil (polyethylene glycol) is designated as PG according to the German industrial standard DIN51502. This type of lubricant possesses excellent anti-aging properties, which can effectively improve the mechanical efficiency of gearboxes. The operating temperature range is from -20°C to 90°C. (It can reach 110°C momentarily.) The CLP you mentioned probably refers to mineral oil.
I found the CLP codes: Mineral oil – CLP; PG – Polyethylene glycol. For the two CLP codes mentioned above, HC stands for Synthetic hydrocarbons, HCE stands for Synthetic hydrocarbons + Polyester oil, HLP stands for Hydraulic oil, and E stands for Esterified oil.
