I specialize in pipeline materials, and when preparing grade tables it is necessary to specify the material used for stainless steel pipe caps. GB/T 12459 mentions both GB/T 3280 (cold-rolled steel plates) and GB/T 4237 (hot-rolled steel plates). So, which type of steel plate is generally used for manufacturing stainless steel pipe caps: hot-rolled or cold-rolled?
General situation: Thick plates are hot-rolled, while thin plates are cold-rolled.
The thickness tolerance of cold-rolled materials can be controlled very well, while that of hot-rolled materials is relatively larger.
Look at the thickness; just check the thickness ranges of these two standards and you’ll know
