Dear experts, what does the bottom position of the weld mean?
b represents the requirement for the gap at the root, while P refers to the requirement regarding the root bevel of the weld seam. A root bevel is generally necessary for grooved welds in order to ensure proper fusion and to enable the area to withstand the current used during welding at the root
Bottom of weld: The initial welding position of the weld; B represents the welding gap, P represents the root face, and α represents the groove angle of the joint. These values are determined through multiple experiments to ensure proper interaction between the welding material, the molten pool, and the base material during the welding process, while also taking into account factors such as defects, cost, and construction time
