I have a question for everyone. For example, in a typical setup with collectors arranged from bottom to top, there are four collectors: the inlet collector of the low-temperature economizer, the outlet collector of the low-temperature economizer, the inlet collector of the high-temperature economizer, and the outlet collector of the high-temperature economizer. The pressure values should increase from low to high, while the temperatures should increase from low to high. When calculating the strength of these collectors, it is necessary to use the worst-case conditions (i.e., the highest pressure and highest temperature). The inlet collector of the low-temperature economizer has the highest pressure and the lowest temperature, whereas the outlet collector of the high-temperature economizer has the lowest pressure and the highest temperature. So, which collector’s parameters should be used for determining the thickness? ?

Each header on the boiler is calculated separately, and the tubes of the economizer headers are generally evaluated at the saturated temperature, even if they are not boiling.
I know it’s best to calculate each header separately, but it seems that other engineers usually don’t conduct their calculations using the worst-case scenario. Once the conditions under the worst-case scenario are determined, those with lower pressures and temperatures will certainly meet the requirements
Are there any other questions I can help answer? It’s definitely possible to calculate each header, but it’s complicated. Is there any simple way to calculate only one header?
