Dear experts, how is the proportion of weld inspections determined during routine inspections? The quality certification documents and specifications were reviewed. No clear answer was found; I hope experts can offer some guidance.

For surface non-destructive testing during regular inspections, no specific proportion for such testing is specified. Based on the actual conditions of the equipment, an inspection plan should be developed to determine the inspection areas and the proportion of inspections to be carried out. Additionally, depending on the results of defect detection, it is necessary to decide whether to conduct inspections for hidden defects or to increase the proportion of inspections.
I just feel that the proportion allocated to plan preparation is a bit high, which is time-consuming, labor-intensive and costly; therefore I’d like to know if there are any relevant guidelines
Regular inspections rely entirely on the words of the inspectors at the boiler inspection agency; haha, take a look at TSG 21
:(21 says that for the three categories, the percentage should be no less than 20% – it’s confusing just to think about it.)
