When using SW6 to calculate reinforcement for openings, does the actual outward extension height of the pipe fitting include the thickness of the flange itself, such as in the case of plate-type butt weld flanges?

The equal-area reinforcement method – I don’t see any mistake in including the thickness of the flange. And even if we count only the takeovers, it’s still an underestimation
In actual reinforcement calculations, the protrusion height of the nozzle should preferably not include the flange.
