Hello everyone, I work in the atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit. The three dehydration units I have installed do not perform well in terms of sedimentation within the reflux tank, which results in oil being carried over in the dehydrated product (this is not due to a malfunction of the instruments), and the environmental standards are not met. My friends, there doesn’t seem to be any good way to recover this oil, nor are there any devices that can be used to separate the naphtha from the water. Thank you all.
We used to be too. Set the drainage level a bit higher; we have 40% oil content, so set it above 70%!

Are there any relevant materials available? We currently have a sodium sulfate mother liquor at around 80 degrees, containing an oil phase and water; we want to separate the oil from the water. However, as the temperature drops, crystals form which can cause blockages. At present, manual handling is used to deal with this issue, which is quite labor-intensive.
A good method is to pour it into a large container and let it sit; the components will separate on their own after some time.
You can first raise the temperature to separate oil from water, and then lower the temperature to induce crystallization
