Hello everyone, I have a question for you. There are several 300 m³ storage tanks for concentrated hydrochloric acid. The original float level gauges (local level gauges; there is also a remote radar level gauge on the tanks) were causing hydrogen chloride gas to leak out continuously, as the holes in the ropes used with those floats could not be sealed. Therefore, I would like to remove these float level gauges and install remote level gauges instead. Here’s the question: does such a storage tank necessarily require an on-site level gauge? Is it in compliance with the specifications to use two remote level gauges (one differential pressure type and one radar type)? Who has this specification regarding level gauges? Why not use transparent tetrafluoroethylene? It’s obvious that this option is also cost-effective, and both hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid can be used
Storage tanks containing substances like concentrated hydrochloric acid are considered toxic; it is required to install two types of level gauges based on different principles. This is stipulated in Document No. 53 issued in Jiangsu in 2019
