Hello sea friends! My project has two stainless steel fixed-roof storage tanks with a capacity of 50m3, both of which require thermal insulation. There is an emergency pressure relief manhole and a breathing valve on the top of the tank. Do I need to install an insulation box at these two places? The pipe below it has been insulated. Please see the attached picture for emergency pressure relief manhole forms and information.

No insulation. If it is insulated, the emergency pressure relief valve will not work.

The insulation length of the pipe opening should be considered to facilitate future maintenance. If not considered, you can add a nipple with flanges at both ends. This nipple does not need to be insulated.
OK, thanks! At present, the insulation is done under the flange, and the connecting flange and pressure relief manhole flange are not insulated.
What is the structure of the platform? It doesn't look like pedals and steel grilles, but it looks a bit like that?
The discharge area cannot be insulated, and even though the freezing point here is 15 above zero, it is not insulated.
There is no insulation. We used to add insulation on our own initiative, but later on inspection we found that it was all removed.
I encountered an engineering catechol 20-ton storage tank with a melting point of 105°C. The process requires that its liquid state be pumped into the workshop for use, so an insulated coil is added for long-term insulation. Since the material needs to be fed and discharged, a nitrogen-sealed breathing valve and a manhole are installed. If the breathing valve is not insulated, all the sublimated gas phase will freeze at the root of the breathing valve. When the manhole is opened, a thick layer of crystalline material is blocked, which requires a lot of force to break open. I see that most of you say there is no need for thermal insulation. It probably depends on the situation. For things with high melting points and easy sublimation, the manhole and breathing valve are low-temperature areas, and the gas phase that sublimates without thermal insulation is frozen here. Of course, if it is a bursting disc, it cannot be used normally. If it is a substance with a high melting point and a high boiling point that is not easy to sublimate, it should not be insulated.
