Hello everyone. I am trying to design a clamping-type fastening structure for a small-diameter, high-pressure, high-temperature reactor (for laboratory use), with single-bolt quick tightening and quick opening. What type of gasket should be used for sealing in this case? It is stated that self-sealing gaskets should be used. So far, I am only familiar with C-type gaskets. I would like to ask whether metal wound gaskets also qualify as self-sealing gaskets Also, is the slope of the opening of the clamp the same as the slope at the end of the cylinder (angle a)? Consult the sales staff of the reactor manufacturers; they will quickly suggest a solution for you. PTFE materials can withstand temperatures of over 200°C. What you mentioned involves a tight seal between metal surfaces, which allows the system to resist high pressures, with gaskets serving as an additional sealing element. I’ve never heard of metal wound gaskets being used in small laboratories~
C-type gaskets or P-type shims can be used, while high-pressure reactors can be equipped with B-type gaskets cooled by liquid nitrogen.
