Our company uses bromine, compressed air for unloading, and to empty the tank, an air-breaking pipe must be inserted into the liquid alkali in the tank to neutralize the bromine gas. When using bromine from the storage tank, it is transferred via a pump from the bottom opening, which creates a negative pressure inside the tank. Since the vent pipe is inserted into the alkaline solution, the vent valve cannot be opened; instead, another vent valve that faces upward must be manually opened immediately after venting, and then closed right away. Is there a valve that can open automatically to break through the barrier and then close again? (Bromine gas must not leak at all, as it is toxic.) I earnestly ask experts to share their wisdom
For your situation, a combination of nitrogen supply valve, nitrogen release valve, and breather valve – which are commonly used in atmospheric-pressure storage tanks and are lined with PTFE – is suitable
