Theoretically, that’s the case. The minimum welding time refers to the shortest heat treatment time required for equipment manufacturing (preheating, hydrogen removal, post-heating, etc., as accumulated by the manufacturer and at the construction site); this process demands that the welding of the equipment be successful on the first attempt, without any need for repairs. Under normal circumstances, this cannot be achieved; therefore, the maximum heat treatment time must also be taken into account. In addition to the aforementioned heat treatment time, the heat treatment time required for welding repairs (limited to the maximum number permitted by the specifications) must be added as well. Most of the time, the actual cumulative heat treatment time of the equipment lies between the maximum and minimum values.
