Fire and explosion prevention measures: The main fire and explosion prevention measures during the welding of pressure vessels are as follows: 01 Flammable and explosive materials are prohibited from being placed in the welding area; sufficient firefighting equipment must be available there, along with adequate lighting and good ventilation. 02 Within 10 meters of the welding area, there should be no storage containers or pipelines for oils or other flammable and explosive substances, nor oxygen cylinders. Boundaries should be set around the work area, with fire safety signs hung up. 03 When welding pressurized containers, sealed containers, various oil drums and pipelines, as well as workpieces contaminated with flammable substances, it is necessary to conduct inspections in advance. Toxic, harmful, flammable, and explosive substances must be removed through flushing, the pressure in the containers and pipelines must be released, and the sealed state of the containers must be eliminated before welding can proceed. 04 When welding sealed hollow workpieces, vent holes must be provided ; When welding pipes, the ends must not be blocked. 05 When welding in workshops or areas where flammable and explosive materials are present, or near gas pipes or acetylene pipes (cylinders), permission from the fire department must be obtained. Strict measures should be taken during welding operations to prevent fires caused by flying sparks. 06 Welders are not allowed to perform welding operations on wooden planks or wooden bricks. 07 Welders are not allowed to perform welding with the wires or grounding wires exposed, nor are they permitted to connect the secondary circuit wires in a haphazard manner. 08 When using gas welding or cutting, qualified calcium carbide and acetylene generators as well as backfire arrestors must be used. Pressure gauges should be regularly calibrated, and qualified rubber hoses must also be employed. 09 When leaving the welding site, the gas supply and power supply should be turned off, and any flames should be extinguished.
