The pressure-bearing components of this equipment are made of steel plates, forgings, fittings, and welded joints, and they are subjected to impact tests at -20 degrees Celsius – how is this done? The steel plate is Q345R, with a design temperature of 65. The key is this weld joint.
The drawings do not require the production of test plates. Is it only possible to make test plates? But can the test plate for seam A of cylinder A, that is, for this single weld, represent all welded joints?
It is not a requirement to retest the materials; if the impact temperature specified in the warranty certificate is not -20 degrees, then an impact test at -20 degrees should be conducted. This can be requested when placing the order for the forgings. The welded joint can only be used as a test plate
For welding test plates with longitudinal seams, it involves replacing the arc-starting plate or arc-extinguishing plate with a test plate, in addition to the costs for machining and testing.
The technical requirements pertain only to the raw materials; it is sufficient to check whether the relevant material specifications meet those requirements. If the requirements are not met, retesting is required.
