For one storage tank, as required by the design institute, the composite plate should be of type S31603+Q345R (4+16), with a joint coefficient of 0.85. The question now is whether the inspection rate should also be set at 20% RT – and whether this is feasible

Welding of this composite material poses no problems; in the event of a leak, factors such as the suitability of the medium and quality control during the welding process need to be considered, and it has little to do with non-destructive testing.
How should testing be carried out at the base layer? Should it be done after the base layer has been welded, or only after the entire welding is complete?
This is related to the type of groove used. Generally, inspection is carried out after the base layer has been welded; once it passes the inspection, then the transition layer and the final coating layer are welded. Some clients have strict requirements regarding the equipment – for example, in the case of chromium-molybdenum steel, 347 alloy is used for cladding, with 100% inspection of the base layer, and another 100% inspection after the cladding layer is completed. In any case, the final coating on the inner surface is definitely the last weld, and its surface must be inspected thoroughly
