There’s a leak in the heat exchanger housing; there’s a small hole. Can Haiyou take a look and see what’s going on? The tube layer carries alkanes, while the shell layer carries steam
Without looking at the instructions, I thought it was a small hole cut out
Does this hole appear in the area where fluid accumulates in the shell side of the heat exchanger? If so, it is likely that the steam pipeline was not properly purged, resulting in the accumulation of sediment and iron particles in certain areas of the heat exchanger, which led to electrochemical corrosion
It looks like it was cut accidentally.
What was said upstairs makes sense; if there’s no explanation, it definitely looks like holes made by flame cutting. As for corrosion, I would guess it’s electrochemical corrosion. Is there a small crack below those holes? This is the first time I’ve seen this; I’ll learn from the experts.
It must be happening from the outside in; have a heat exchanger manufacturer come and take a look – they’ll know how to fix it; it’s not a big issue
