In the propylene spherical tanks built in the past, most of the parameters were as follows, with no insulation at all. However, due to the owner’s special requirements, there are also exceptions where insulation is applied. 4000 m3 of propylene: -48/50, 07MnNiMoDR; 3000 m3 of propylene: -45/50, 07MnNiMoDR; 3000 m3 of propylene: -19/50, 07MnMoVR/Q370R. So when is insulation necessary and when isn’t it needed? Spherical tanks stored at room temperature do not require insulation. Using insulation is a conservative design approach. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using alkene for insulation? Advantages: 1. In case of a fire, it can prevent or reduce leaks, thus avoiding the occurrence of large-scale fires. 2. Insulation helps to minimize pressure fluctuations experienced by the tank, providing some protection for it over time. Disadvantages: 1.
