The towers are constructed one by one, with operations such as lifting and welding carried out in an orderly manner. The workers, working in the high temperatures, carried out welding tasks inside and outside the tower in perfect coordination. China National Petroleum & Natural Gas Seventh Construction Company is prefabricating the oversized tower structures for the ethylene plant. This tower is Column No. 2, an oversized column used for propylene processing; it has a diameter of 8.2 meters and a length of 114 meters, and it is the heaviest column in the ethylene plant. China National Petroleum & Natural Gas Seventh Construction Co., Ltd. uses submerged arc automatic welding to ensure welding quality. Currently, the progress meets the requirements of the entire project. At present, the three construction companies working at the large-scale prefabrication site are operating at full capacity, with over 270 workers engaged in the work. Meanwhile, the fabrication of 5 large towers is underway, as efforts are made in full to advance the project construction. The large-scale prefabrication site for the Tarim 1.2 million tons/year Phase II ethylene project is an important area in the project construction process. Three companies, including China National Petroleum & Natural Gas Seventh Construction Co., Ltd., are responsible for the manufacturing of 43 pieces of equipment for the ethylene plant. This year, they need to complete the manufacturing and installation of 9 ultra-tall and extra-long towers for this plant, so as to ensure that these large-scale equipment are ready in time to support the project’s construction by the end of the year. The Tarim 1.2 million tons per year Phase II ethylene project is of great significance for ensuring **energy and resource security, promoting the economic and social development of Xinjiang, and accelerating the transformation and upgrading of China’s petroleum refining industry.
