Steam generator level remote transmission

As shown in the figure below, a stream of deoxygenated water is supplied for the remote level monitoring of the steam generator inside the unit. What is the purpose of this? Is it used to flush the level gauge? Correction?
It shouldn’t need to be rinsed, right? I’ve used so many steam generators and I’ve never heard that the level gauge needs to be cleaned. The water that enters the evaporator is from the boiler supply, so there’s no chance of dirt forming
