The standard seems to specify only the thickness coverage for butt welds, without mentioning anything regarding fillet welds. 2: If butt weld specimens are used, can the previously conducted process evaluations be applied directly? The welding of heat exchange tubes to tube sheets involves fillet welds; process evaluations that have been done for butt welds can be used for fillet welds regardless of the thickness of those welds.
