For a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, a steam-water separator is installed behind it; below this separator, a water collection tank is necessary. This tank has two drainage pathways: one for automatic drainage and another for manual drainage. The automatic drainage is controlled by the liquid level – for example, if there is 5 kg of condensate per hour, what should be the appropriate volume of the water collection tank? Is there a calculation method? Is it still related to how often water needs to be drained? Because the drainage interval is related to the drainage level of the level gauge.
If there is a power plant, it is recommended to recycle this condensate water

Is 8 hours an overly long interval for drainage? Isn’t it not good for water to stay inside the water capsule for too long? Could it be scheduled every half an hour, or at some shorter interval? The above are merely my personal questions; I hope they can be answered
