Wide-channel plate heat exchangers are products specifically developed for heat exchange applications involving various solids, crystals, fibers, pasty substances, and high-viscosity media. They can be widely used in industrial fields such as wastewater waste heat recovery, sugar production, papermaking, textiles, as well as the food and juice industries. What are the characteristics of wide-channel heat exchangers? To address this issue, the editor mainly discusses the following features: (1) no metal contact points between plates, and S-shaped fluid channels. The outer contour of the plate is primarily composed of horizontal corrugations, allowing the medium to flow unobstructedly over the heat exchange surface of the plate without any blockages occurring. (2) The plate design features a special coarse corrugated structure; the width of the flow channels between plates can range from 6 to 16 mm, while in ultra-wide channel heat exchangers, this width can reach 30 mm. (3) The channel is smooth, allowing the fluid to flow unobstructed; there are no stagnant areas, dead zones, or blockages. There are no obstacles between the flow channels, so even if the fruit fiber length in the juice reaches 12 mm and its concentration is 20%, operation will proceed smoothly. (4) Effectively prevents the deposition and clogging of solid particles and suspended solids. (5) High heat transfer efficiency, low pressure loss, and gentle treatment for heat-sensitive products. The pressing configuration of the plates ensures that high turbulence is generated at low flow rates, resulting in a heat transfer coefficient much higher than that of shell-and-tube heat exchangers. (6) Light weight and low cost, effectively improving the economic efficiency of the equipment. (7) Easy to install and remove, with excellent cleanability that reduces cleaning time. Furthermore, wide-channel heat exchangers can be equipped with self-cleaning heat exchange devices, which further enhances the equipment’s cleaning capability and extends production time. (8) The plates can be removed for cleaning, making them suitable for industries such as food and beverage production and sewage treatment where cleanliness and hygiene are essential. (9) Depending on the properties of the fluid and the requirements of different process conditions, a wide-narrow channel or wide-wide channel design can be selected.
What operating conditions are applicable? Are there any technical parameters?
It is suitable for heat exchange of materials containing small particles, fibers, or those with high viscosity. It can be used in industries such as sewage treatment, sugar production, papermaking, and printing and dyeing. The plates feature a straight corrugated design, and the flow channel width can range from 6 to 16 mm. Feel free to add me on WeChat at 18618108412; I’ll send you some relevant information
