The difference between HBW and HRB
HBW — represents the Brinell hardness value measured using a cemented carbide indenter. Application range: 450~650. Brinell hardness notation: The number before the symbols HBS or HBW indicates the hardness value, while the numbers following the symbols represent the sphere diameter, the applied load, and the load holding time in sequence. HRB is a common type of Rockwell hardness; the indenter used is a quenched steel ball with a diameter of φ1.588 mm, the total testing force is F/N (kgf), and the hardness range is 20~100. The hardness values between the two can be interchanged using a table.
