The RT evaporator heat exchanger consists of hundreds of vertical tubes, some of which are completely blocked by scale. The main components of this scale are calcium sulfate and magnesium sulfate. The tubes are 5 meters long and 32 MM in diameter, made of titanium alloy. How should these tubes be cleaned? If acid cleaning is used, what type of acid and corrosion inhibitors should be employed, and will they be effective? .

This hydrochloric acid cleaning method is likely to be ineffective; instead, we need to consider other approaches – first clear the blockage, and then use a high-pressure water gun to see if it can dislodge it
You can try using Theox, but the results are likely to be poor; it is recommended to replace the heat exchanger directly and then check and clean it regularly. It can be soaked in acid, or a wire brush can be tied to a long iron wire and used to scrub back and forth for cleaning.
Plugging it up is a gradual process; no pickling will work, and the only option is to replace it with a new one.
The prerequisite for pickling is also to clear things so that the acid can flow. So first, try to clear it out using a drill or a high-pressure water gun. It’s impossible to block it – you only turn on the equipment when it can’t be unclogged, right? Has the temperature parameter been fine from a technical standpoint all along?
