When using the equal-area method for strengthening eccentric splices, the software sometimes indicates that no calculation is required, while other times it provides calculation results. In 150.3, the case of eccentricity not being mentioned is exempted. What is the basis for calculating the eccentricity exemption of SW6?
It is stated in GB/T150.3; either you haven’t read it or you haven’t understood it
150.3 specifies the conditions for exemption, but it does not state whether eccentricity is a factor. Moreover, when using SW6 for calculations, if there is eccentricity, the values for exemption from calculation and non-exemption do not match those specified in the standards. You can give it a try. I’ve encountered this quite a few times, but I still haven’t figured out what kind of constraints are used in SW6. This issue is indeed worth discussing
Then take another close look, or rather, you haven’t calculated that scenario yet. For the same device with multiple eccentric nozzles, under the conditions specified in 150.3.6.1.3, some cases indicate that calculation is not required while others require it. However, this standard does not specify that eccentric cases are included. I once asked the instructor during training, and they believed that this does not cover eccentric cases. I’m not sure how you understand it – or maybe I didn’t explain it clearly enough?
