What principle underlies the installation of drains at the inlet and outlet of the shell and tube sides of a heat exchanger? ?
It is best to set up evacuation, but this depends on the installation condition of the heat exchanger.
It is recommended that manufacturers include features for draining and cleaning the heat exchanger during production. Draining is primarily done to reduce the amount of unfilled fluid during heat exchange, thereby preventing vibrations or minimizing waste in heat transfer. Waste discharge mainly occurs when the machine is stopped, to empty the medium inside the housing.
The outlet is set to vent, generally to discharge non-condensable gases at the beginning of operation; the inlet facility is designed for condensate drainage, mainly to remove the fluid from the equipment and pipelines during maintenance
Draining is done to ensure there is no air in the cooling water at the start of operation. Draining means emptying the cooling water when the vehicle is parked; the biggest concern is freezing in winter
