The process requirements specify that the heat exchange tubes and tube sheets should be joined using strong expansion bonding. However, a new heat exchanger’s tube bundle still leaks even after multiple expansion bonding attempts; it’s not clear whether this is due to excessive expansion or inadequate bonding. Are there any standards or industry guidelines regarding the amount of deformation of the heat exchange tubes or the force required for expansion bonding? The heat exchange tubes are made of 10 Number steel, with dimensions of 25.4*2.77, while the tube sheets are made of 16MNR material. We need to start operations as soon as possible; I earnestly request guidance from everyone.
Your tubes are already thick; I don’t know what type of expansion joint you’re using, nor what the thickness of the tube sheet is

For the process evaluation of mechanical expansion joining, reference can be made to Table 6-18 in GB/T151-2014 P26, which specifies the expansion amount required for such joining, and then the product can be expanded using this method.
