I am preparing to bid for a project to remove moisture from the exhaust gases of a chemical company. The client has specified that water-cooled plate heat exchangers should be used; the hot side of these exchangers is exposed to the flue gas, while the cold side is filled with water, and as a result, some of the water vapor in the flue gas condenses. The flue gas volume is quite high, at over 200,000 m3/h. We are not familiar with manufacturers that produce water-cooled heat exchangers; could anyone recommend some such manufacturers? Thank you!
What are the impurity components in your smoke? Tar? Dust? Temperature? Humidity? And pH level, there are many factors. While plate heat exchangers offer the best efficiency, are they suitable for your specific operating conditions? There are many types of coolers, as well as various methods for using water as a cooling medium. Coolers are mostly used when two materials absolutely cannot be mixed. If production permits it, consider a water cooling tower with mixed-type heat exchange. Could another venturi-type cooling method (used in steelmaking converter flues) be utilized as a reference? When dealing with chemical industrial exhaust gases, it is necessary to first consider the appropriate operating conditions.

The dust concentration is 100 mg/m3, and the NH3 concentration is 50 mg/m3; the rest is nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide. Are there any recommended manufacturers for this?

Dust plus acid radicals……it seems that a mixed washing and heat exchange approach will be necessary to deal with this. It is recommended to find a design firm to handle this issue; it’s not something that can be resolved simply by purchasing a cooler.
The lifespan of such heat exchange equipment is a major issue during use! It’s best to find a product of a similar type that has been in use for a longer period of time in order to learn from its experience; you certainly don’t want it to start corroding and leaking after just a short time of use.
