It depends on how it’s stacked; each material is placed with other materials of its kind. For applications that do not require a transition layer, the weld depth should be approximately the lowest point plus 3. For applications that do require a transition layer, the weld depth is the lowest point plus 3 plus the thickness of the transition layer; the actual weld height also needs to take into account the machining allowance.
