F: FAST, fixed foot. S: SOFT, movable foot, which refers to those with oblong holes. Tighten the fixed feet firmly, and after tightening the movable feet, loosen them by one or two turns to allow for thermal expansion and contraction of the equipment. It’s all personal interpretation.

A jacking screw works by welding a nut to the base, then attaching a bolt that uses the screw’s force to push against the component in front. The pull rod is a tube, whose length is adjusted with screws.
