Recently, I encountered floating-head heat exchangers, and I found that it’s unclear to which type of weld the spherical head of the floating-head cover and the welding seam of the floating-head flange belong. Moreover, it’s not clear how to calculate the strength of these welds or how to determine their dimensions (Test pressure: 3.2 MPa, working medium: naphtha) Thank you! ! :D

After checking the GB151 calculations, it seems that the strength of this weld was not verified; the value of the weld penetration depth is only used when calculating the radial force Fr and the torque.
