Regarding heat exchanger calculation issues

Our unit is equipped with two sets of heat exchangers connected in series; now, due to a decline in heat exchange efficiency, one of these sets needs to be removed. May I ask how to calculate the outlet temperatures of the hot and cold fluid streams after removing a set of units? Can it be approximated by half of the maximum heat load?
Are both cold and hot fluids connected in series?
