2507 stainless steel seamless tube: 2507 is also known as UNS S32750, SAF2507, 1.4410, and F53; its chemical composition is as follows – elements C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, S, P, Mo, N: limits of 0.03 for C, 0.80 for Si, 1.22 for Mn, 24–26% for Cr, 6–8% for Ni, 0.02 for S, 0.035 for P, 3–50.2% for Mo, 0.2–0.32% for N. Mechanical properties: tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, hardness – ≥800 MPa, ≥550 MPa, ≥15 HRC, ≤25%. Physical properties: density of 7.75 g/cm3, melting point of 1396–1450°C. Product characteristics: 2507 is a super duplex stainless steel whose corrosion resistance and strength are superior to those of 2205. It combines many of the most advantageous properties of ferritic and austenitic steels; due to its high levels of chromium and molybdenum, it exhibits excellent resistance to uniform corrosion, pitting corrosion, and crevice corrosion. The two-phase structure ensures that this steel possesses high resistance to stress corrosion cracking, as well as high mechanical strength. Its higher chromium and molybdenum contents grant it strong resistance to overall corrosion by organic acids such as formic acid and acetic acid, as well as strong corrosion resistance to inorganic acids, especially those containing chlorides. Compared to 904L, which is designed to resist corrosion by pure sulfuric acid, 2507 exhibits greater resistance to diluted sulfuric acid containing chloride ions. Grade 316L cannot be used in hydrochloric acid environments, as it may suffer from local or general corrosion, whereas 2507 can be used in diluted hydrochloric acid environments and possesses strong resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. The lower carbon content of 2507 **reduces the risk of carbide precipitation in the intergranular regions during heat treatment; as a result, it possesses strong resistance to intergranular corrosion associated with carbides. 2507 possesses high compressive strength and impact strength, as well as a low coefficient of thermal expansion and high thermal conductivity; these properties make it suitable for use in various structural components and mechanical parts. 2507 stainless steel seamless tubes should not be exposed to temperatures above 300°C for extended periods, as this may reduce their toughness. Applications: pipelines, containers, and heat exchangers in the chemical industry; seawater pipelines in desalination plants; equipment in the oil and gas industry; flue gas desulfurization systems, washing equipment, and absorption towers in power plants; chemical liquid tankers.
