How is the design life of a heat exchanger determined? How is the design life of a tube bundle determined?
The service life of the heat exchanger is determined by the user, with the design institute handling the design. Different process conditions and the service life of different equipment vary. The principle is: economy and security. Typically, the service life of a heat exchanger shell is 10 to 15 years, while that of the tube bundle is at most one production cycle (around 3 to 5 years)
