The company has a heater; the design pressure for the pipe side is 7 MPa, the design temperature is 155 degrees, and the medium used is water; The shell side design pressure is 1 MPa, the design temperature is 300 degrees, and the medium is steam. The tube sheet flange type is of the clamped type (U-tube heat exchanger); how should the vessel flange type be chosen? Should it be a type B flange or a long-neck butt weld flange? Should the seal face type be RF or MFM? Appendix A of HG20583 does not provide reference conditions for such high water levels.
For higher temperatures, choose a high-neck flange!
For wafer type, the flange class is the same as that of the tube side!
Since it is a retrofit of old equipment, the pipe port dimensions are difficult to handle. Can a non-standard Type B flange style be selected for the verification calculations?
Special equipment must follow the proper procedures! Get the original design unit’s approval! The special inspection department’s approval is all that’s needed!
Thank you for your reply. I didn’t explain clearly enough: the equipment needs to be redesigned (the original design drawings can only serve as a reference for some of the structures). I was unable to find any information regarding the limitations associated with the flange types used in custom containers (such devices are rarely used for contact applications), so for now the design is being carried out using custom long-neck flanges (MFM).
Such high pressure definitely requires a high-neck flange U-tube; the sealing surface must be of FM type
I think it’s a non-standard TG flange type
